Font - Alright so I want to preface, by saying usually I don't seek revenge or whatever on other people. But an HOA president annoyed the hell out of me and certain other residents. Basically a dude with a huge self inflated ego that acted like he was a king. This happened a few years ago. Cue the petty revenge story.

Font - So I basically moved into this HOA nightmare, because the area was great at first. Low crime, well maintained yards, and most of the potentially future neighbors at the open house had commented about the fun monthly community events some Holiday related. House was decently priced and it felt like a good community. So after some back and forth with the realtor, I bought the place. About 24 hours after buying it, the next day I was greeted by a man in an expensive looking suit after he rang

The guy in the expensive suit began to talk about how they hoped I'd feel welcomed and that if I needed anything not to hesitate to ask him or someone else for help. I was kinda just dumbfounded at the generosity. I thanked them awkwardly and took the desserts before after several minutes of chatting they left. That sort of kindness lasted for all of about two months.

Font - That morning approximately 2 months after I'd moved in, I got a loud knock on the door. It was like 9 AM on a Saturday (my sleep in day) and I hear my doorbell ring twice as I'm heading to the door. It was one of the HOA members there. I'd noticed he was sort of like the President's assistant and was always craving his attention/compliments. I'm wondering what the actual hell he's at my house for and he hands me a envelope personally addressed to me. It was a personal hand delivered lette

Font - list in bullet points. Then about how he'd cut me some slack since we were "buddies", but I needed to get my house in shape as to "not shame the other high quality homes in the neighborhood". I was dumbfounded. I'd gotten woken up for this!!! And it stated if I didn't I would have to pay all types of fines for each infraction.

Font - I was angry and practically told the HOA guy to get the hell off my property in a less than friendly voice. I went online to our HOA's rules and checked the "infractions" my house was accused of having. After some basic checking for about twenty minutes, I found out my house didn't violate a single one. I also called the former owner who confirmed it. I was even angrier when I found that fact out. But I also calmed myself thinking it could have been a mistake. I marched right over to the

Font - partially calmly) held the letter right up in front of his face demanding what sort of bullshit he was trying to pull with the infraction fines he was charging me. It wasn't some mistake. This bozo was serious. He starts talking down to me, about how I'm trying my best to ruin the neighborhood by not matching all the other houses to a tee (my house had a few differences that were well within HOA standards). I ripped up his letter in front of

He told me how dare I disrespect him like that and went on an entitled rant like a spoiled manchild about how I had to respect him. Like Hell I did. I just walked off satisfied with just ruining his peaceful morning and flipping him off, while he was still spouting off utter nonsense about how I need to follow his rules.

Font - A few days later, I get another letter from the HOA. This time dropped off in front of my door after ringing the doorbell. It was the bogus fines that I was supposed to pay for the bogus infractions. I had collected evidence that my property was in order and met HOA standards. I also had neighbors be witnesses that everything was in check. I just trashed the bogus fine letters or used them as kindling on my backyard mini fire pit to make S'mores. The letters continued after no payment say

Font - When I got a legal notice eventually from a lawyer who represented the HOA, I immediately contacted my own lawyer and started pressuring the HOA that if any more bogus letters came to my house, I'd go to the police to file a report against him that I was being extorted and defrauded (he handled the majority of the legal stuff). The HOA President laughed saying he was "important" and the police wouldn't do anything to someone quote "like him" as if he was different somehow. Other HOA membe

Font - neighbors who were in the HOA (some of whom probably didn't like me resisting his bullshit as it affected their kick backs) started randomly harassing me though (I've always assumed because of him). Turning on my hose so my water bill would go up, damaging plants in my yard through "accidents" if I spotted them, and other random small crap that was harassment. Police wouldn't do anything to stop them. I got super fed up with it, so when I saw a golden opportunity to get back at them I did

Font - A drummer kid who lived a couple streets over was a neighbor to the HOA president. It was a one way street most of the HOA members lived on. That was the most pristine part of the whole neighborhood taken better care of than the rest. of the neighborhood. At a random neighborhood event, I learned it was his birthday a month ahead of the actual date. I didn't particularly know the parents that well (besides a few conversations at the events), but started through mutual friends getting clos

Font - by the HOA at one point. Our mutual dislike made us closer and eventually I met all the other people it had happened to as well. I told them my petty revenge plan after I'd learned what the kid wanted for his birthday. He wanted a drum set to form a band with his friends who already had instruments (I was just learning that at the time). His single Dad told me he couldn't particularly afford it because money was tight with bills.

Font - I got everyone to help pitch in for a full drum set and these mega speakers (8 ft tall) that were so heavy, they had to be wheeled into the garage. It cost me a pretty penny to add them, but the harassment from certain HOA members had destroyed any bit of diplomacy I had. They were gonna pay. And oh my Lord, it was glorious seeing their angry faces through the window that night. And seeing the happy expressions on the jamming rockers faces, while they rocked on all night in every which wa

Font - them I was at his house, having a beer with his Dad watching a sports game with him and a few other HOA haters. The speakers cranked the sound and the walls were literally shaking. Absolutely horrible sounds started playing as they tried to jam together (they definitely weren't like Kiss or Queen). They also tried to sing with microphones at this insanely high pitched volume that they sounded like a pack of shrieking hyenas singing together.

Font - HOA president and a few others were over in minutes trying to complain, but none of us bothered to answer the door and the garage door where they were jamming was closed. The other neighbors called the police. This went on for a month and I loved every second of the HOA president's torment. The kid and his friends would jam at random times of day (sometimes past midnight). It woke up most of the shitty HOA members multiple times. He tried to lean on the police using his "important person"

Font - actually demanded them to confiscate the instruments and threw a tantrum or two when they wouldn't). Eventually the band just started playing during the day after that month and enough noise complaints to be an issue happened. (I do regret the fact innocent other neighbors on that street got woken up, but vast majority of them were the HOA people on kick backs in a cul-de-sac).

Font - The lack of sleep on random nights started making the HOA members miserable. It was a domino effect of disaster. It especially affected the HOA President, who wasn't reelected for any position when the time for new leadership came because his tantrums were even worse without proper sleep. He didn't get the kick backs he was receiving from being President either, which was an added revenge bonus. The new President was

Font - someone the HOA haters (including me) elected to actually change things. And she really did. She improved the safety of the neighborhood, she got rid of the shitty HOA members who got kick backs, and added new facilities with the freed up funds not being misused for everyone to just generally enjoy (playgrounds, basketball courts, and a small soccer field).

Font - When he eventually learned I gifted the drum set, he got so pissed that he tried to guilt me with everything "I'd done to him". I acted all innocent like I was just fulfilling a kids wishes for a drum set. Truth be told I didn't feel any guilt period. Especially since he yet again started trying to legally threaten me again with bogus legal things saying I'd be homeless by the time he was done, until I shut his ass up by calmly saying with a Cheshire cat smile if he ever did anything I'd

Font - lawsuit. Even if it lost, it was a bad image for him to have and he'd never have a chance at the HOA presidency again. And I oh so casually mentioned that, as well as it would be such a shame if he ended up in a jumpsuit. He got the implications pretty clearly after that comment. So I didn't hear anything from him like ever again, which was completely fine with me.

Font - His wife filed for divorce within a year later. Some of us just assumed she got the house cuz he's no longer there. No one knows exactly why they broke up, but a lot of us have our own guesses we've gossiped about in secret. I'm guessing it was his "sparkling personality" or maybe the fact that someone told her about his "activities". Irregardless I don't miss him or the former HOA members who don't do that petty shit anymore. Several of them apologized and I'm not going to hold it agains
